Faithful, politicians eulogise Bishop Korir as peacemaker

Catholic faithful and politicians from Rift Valley yesterday held a special mass in honour of Bishop Cornelius Korir who died on Monday. The service was held at Eldoret Catholic Church in Uasin Gishu County.

During the mass that lasted for five hours, leaders who included Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter eulogised the bishop as a simple, humble and straight forward servant of God.

During the event presided over by Bishop Anthony Muheria, former long serving Cabinet minister Henry Kosgey said the late bishop has left a legacy that will last for many years in the promotion of peace and church work in Rift Valley region. “When I was faced with International Criminal Court (ICC) case over crime against humanity, I went to see the Bishop in his office and he prayed for me where upon I overcame the matter and was set free,” he said.
