Detectives in Vihiga County are holding a Form Four student from a local secondary school for reportedly dumping an infant in the school latrine. According to Vihiga OCS Judith Nyongesa, the 19-year-old will be arraigned in court to face murder charges. She said with the help of Red Cross Society officers from Vihiga, they managed to rescue the infant who, unfortunately, died while receiving treatment at Mbale Hospital. “We are holding a Form Four student who delivered and dumped her baby in the school pit latrine,” said Nyongesa. The OCS, however, said that the principal has also been arrested to help with investigations. “We are also holding the principal of the school because he was resisting the rescue operation,” she said.
